I missed the first run of the trial deck which got sold out within a week of its release in my area.

Weiss Schwarz is really dam fun, I just hope that I don’t get too caught up with it like with Yugioh. Then again, it Trading Card Games (TCGs) are not fun, how would companies make money?

The scary thing about Weiss Schwarz (WS) is that it has a lot of potential. Unlike Pokemon and Yugioh which are somewhat limited (For example, even though there are many cards for both series, they are very similar in terms of game play.) whereas for WS, with every series there would be a difference in gameplay moreover with the different characters and attributes and stuff.

Misaka is ranked second, how did Haruka become first?

Compared to say, Charizard and Steelix, from Pokemon Red and Crystal (I played Red, Blue, Yellow, Crystal, Fire Red only) respectively, WS has the imbalance option of having characters like Nagato (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya) attacking Rozalin (Disgaea 2) which is really a cool concept in my opinion.

Its been at least 2 years since I bought the last manga

Back when I started reading zetsubo sensei, I could not pick up any interest in it. But years down the road, I read book 3 and 4, then returned to book 1 and 2, and realized that it was actually very interesting. Viewing the society with despair, my fondness of the manga returned but my wallet is feeling all the despair. I currently have book 5 but I think the Japanese manga is already at book 21.

Perhaps age has caught up with me. I no longer find ecchi manga entertaining, besides a handful. For a couple of laughs I wouldn’t mind ecchi & comedy but seriously, it has become boring.

This would retain as the handful but unfortunately its the last book

I really love how fast Chinese translators translate manga

This is issue 291 of Negima. The english version of 290 only came out yesterday. I think I better credit the site first.

Anyway I really like Eva’s blushing face, and for the benefit of those who can’t read chinese characters, Negi just confessed to her. =X Or rather he said he love Eva the most. In which she rejected him by saying that he is 400 years too early and not to say such things to her actual self which is back in Japan.

Personally I barely have any knowledge about the game, having bought my first booster packs merely a week ago. I am currently a collector as I still have absolutely no knowledge on how to play the game but I feel that its worth it as the cards are nice.

Since I have always been in deficit, its no surprise that this time I am left penniless again. What really shocked me was that there was only one foil card inside the booster box. Having collected Yugioh and Pokemon cards in my earlier years, getting one foil out of 20 packs was totally insane, but some think otherwise.

In the past, I would buy 3 packs at one go and usually get 1 foil out of the three, in rare occasions 2 out of 3 thats why I expected at least 4 foil cards. Guess that’s why some cards are real expensive.

Didn’t buy the WeiB Schwarz series for MoHS

Oh, I didn’t get to buy the Trial Deck for to aru series as I didn’t thought that it would be so popular (Well, guess again) and regret not pre-ordering it, since it was sold out on the day it was shipped in, at least in the area where I frequent. =_= Talk about fast.

Speaking of manga, this piece of news made me extremely sad yesterday. Its great that one of my favourite light novels get adapted into an anime, the chinese manga has been available for about 2-3 weeks now, but I just have negative feelings about it becoming mainstream.

Finally ended, one less series to look out for

FINALLY! I was sooo happy that Tsubasa finally ended. I got so bored of it after around book 20, about the same time as I got bored of Air Gear (If only it could end at book 28 too =( ) but since I have one less series to collect, my wallet shall see the light for awhile more.

Heard that its great but have not started yet

Anyway, either my manga fever have died down or most manga out there are full of ecchi nonsense. Ecchi manga are starting to get boring as they revolve around the same storyline, unpopular / normal guy meets some girl who was his friend in the past or really meet her for the first time, then suddenly girls come flocking to the guy, oh and he usually have a friend who envies him etc etc.

Usual scenes include : going to the beach, some random ecchi scene, guy unable to choose a girl, hidden feelings. Hm… mind not working very well today but most people should get the picture. There is little or no storyline and even if there is, its usually not original.

Well, my rant for today is somewhat off as I just threw all of it together in a jiffy. In the meanwhile, I am doing part time jobs and one of them is starting tomorrow so I have to get to bed like… now.

Well, I have always heard people claiming that they can’t live without their iphone, PDA, PSP, Nintendo DS, etc etc (handheld devices are just an example) and some of the reasons are “I need my games” “My entire day’s schedule are in there” “I need to make phone calls/ SMS” and so on…

In the past, I would have laughed at such comments if someone were to say something like that but today, I found a reason not to.

o_o repetitive expressions

My Sony Ericsson phone used to go haywire like once a month or so but today, it just kept restarting and doing stupid things like darkening the screen so much for smartphones that  just threw it to one side and continued with my work. (I sure hope my boss does not see this =X)

Suffocated  bacteria

As I don’t get that many SMSes (Around 1-10 a day, sometimes 0 or in one case nearly 100) and people don’t usually call me (Being anti-social and stuff) I felt that my phone was rather useless and will probably not affect me at all.

Just minutes later, I picked up my phone and started molesting it *ahem* trying all ways and means to make it work but to no avail. You see, even though I do not need to SMS or make phone calls, my phone still serve one very important purpose, which is, a medium for me to read. Who needs the iPad anyway?

I caught a bacteria

I uploaded 20 or more books, more specifically light novels, into my phone and find joy in reading them. They are in chinese by the way, and I got them from this excellent site. The only problem with them is that they only allow downloading on weekdays but just by being a member you can get hold of most if not all the light novels you can think of. Their translation is also quite fast. I remember there was one light novel which was up within two days of its official release in Japan (Japanese version).

Anyway back to my phone. So since my phone could not even on properly, I couldn’t catch a 1-2 minute break within work to read a little (Like when I am waiting for a slot, can’t say what I’m working as though =P) and instead of becoming more productive (Since I couldn’t read in between work), my concentration took a downturn and my work suffered.

Moving along, FORTUNATELY (Caps intended) for me, my phone went back to normal (with a little problem here and there) after lunch. Phew~ So I managed to do more work and catch a break when needed. Of course more priority went to work. =)

Personally, I would prefer holding on to the book and flipping its pages but at work there is no such luxury, even though the light novel is around the size of my hand and can be concealed, the time taken to flip to the page, to find the part where I left off, all these extra seconds taken into consideration will eat up my ‘break time’ and just allow me to read a sentence of two before carrying on with my work. Thus having a phone with such a useful application really saves time.

Anyway that’s about all for today. I’m not sure when will be the next time I put up a post but I hope it would be as soon as possible. Anyway there is a high possibility of me disappearing for another two months or so and return around July but we shall see how it goes.

Well, the IT show seems to be getting more and more crowded by the year and the number of people walking around buying nothing are also on the rise. Example : me, but that was on Saturday as I had to go to Kinokuniya to get my manga before my 666 streak gets any longer.

Anyway, most people would just split up IT show into two days, or maybe cautious people would. The first day would be dedicated to squeezing around collecting brochures and bringing them back home to analyze. The second day would be to head on down to the booth to make the purchase and get the hell out of there.

Well, there might be people who just head straight to the IT show knowing what they want to buy and just get it at the first booth they see. I hate huge crowds but I hate wasting money too. Thus its a matter of opportunity cost. In this case: money > squeezing with people.

I doubt it would have any M18 content by I’m still at the second book so I could be wrong

Before I go on to the graphic tablets, Irake (I wonder if he still uses this nickname) pointed out the huge queue in front of the external hard disk booths. As a former computing student and *ahem* data collector *ahem* having an external hard drive or two would be normal. But it sure was amazing to see people, young and old, buying 1TeraByte(TB) hard disks.

No comments, I’m still very far behind

For the average user I think that amount (1TB) would last them 3 lifetimes. Especially since I know people who aren’t able to fill up a 512MB thumbdrive even though they use it everyday. Fun fact : 1TB = (1024×1024 or 1,048,576MB)

Back to graphic tablets. Well, I saw a couple which seemed, well, nice. However, I am not an art student and have no need for a good one. I just need it to draw random stuff and save paper, money wise. (Saving the Earth? I don’t think so. Trees vs Natural Gases/Fossil Fuels. One is renewable and the other is running out. Both affects us directly. So it would probably be better to waste paper instead.)

Anyway, after listening to the explanation for the graphic tablets, I was really interested in getting one. I stopped myself in time just to compare the prices between the tablets.

Eventually, I could not decide and headed down to Funan IT mall, where there is a Challenger shop which Irake told me to check out the prices first. I was rather skeptical but since my priority was to go to Kinokuniya to check out manga and Funan was along the way I might as well follow that plan.

Surprisingly, almost all the prices which I had seen at the IT show (for graphic tablets) were more expensive than those at Challenger (Taking the member’s price). Hence I decided to return to the IT show the next day to check out the displays and see which is better.

I ran out of ideas for random comments

I did return on the second day but due to the crowd, I did not linger for too long and decided on a Penpower handwriter instead. Many might not consider it to be a graphic tablet, being a writing tool, but its good enough for me.

Thus, I headed down to Challenger at Funan again to get the.. the… hmm… what should I call it? My product is called the FREEDOM so lets just stick with freedom. By the way, the price at IT show was $129 or $139 and it was $139 at Challenger, before the member’s price kicks in.

Summer Rumble

In any case, this incident has changed my perspective towards exhibitions and conventions. Checking out the prices first might be time consuming but can definitely help save a few dollars especially for poor people like myself. I can continue ranting on about the opportunity cost between money and time but I shall spare the detail as it is rather late and I still have work tomorrow.

BlackBeard is gay (No spoilers =))

Well, that was not really related to the IT show which holds and exhibits way more goodies than just graphic tablets. From laptops to plasma TVs and even banks (?!) it would have been better if there were fewer people at the event. Being a densely populated country, I think that dream would never happen.

Random comment? No, I assure you. For those who did not bother to count, excluding the manga directly above, there are 13 other manga shown. That was the exact number which I bought yesterday to get rid of my 666 streak. (There goes 666 and here comes 13) Thats why I bought this today to reset the number to 1 and make my manga count : 680.

This light novel is really nice but I’m missing book 1

Well, I shall continue with random stuff now. The light novel above is quite interesting and the manga has been serialised (I think) and it probably wont be long before the anime appears, which I would prefer not to happen. Personal reasons.

Have always wanted this for convenience sake

I absolutely hate plugging my phone into the USB port and getting the message: “connection error” all the time. This little device would save me from raging and I have tested it out. The price is reasonable too (Or at least it’s the cheapest memory card reader on the shelf).

And… here’s FREEDOM

Looks like a UFO/frisbee. The part about it not being a graphic tablet, I take it back. Inside, there’s a CD which installs a program which allows for photo editing and although I have not fully tried it out yet, I would say that its probably on par with GIMP/Photoshop, though it might be inferior. But its basic function is actually for people to write in Chinese and learn the Chinese language, given its translational functions.

I have read through them just a while ago and decided that I probably have lost my touch somewhere. With some luck, I might be able to do better in this post or in the next few posts but there are no guarantees.

Well, I shall be off looking for content and stuff again and hopefully come up with something better.

Thinking back, the last two years were terrible and nothing went right for me and now, its almost time for me to get my results back. Well, I hope everything goes well.

Anyway what’s the sign at the header? Simple. I just counted and found out that I actually have 666 (Chinese) manga.

That might well explain why I have been unable to buy manga for the past 2-3 weeks. Perhaps the devil wants me to just have 666 manga? I had better get down to getting at least one more this week.

This week has not been great, in fact, it has been terrible. Perhaps one of the worst this year, and with the A level results coming out at the end of the week, well, I shall not say too much about it until I see the results.
