Its been about 5 months since I left, and I just realized one small mistake which I made. I did not left a post to say that I would be leaving. That said, I had expected my blog to be wiped out or something when I return but it seems to have survived these few months of my absence.

I don’t intend to make this a long post as I still have my last bloody final torturous paper left before my A levels officially end. Sigh. I believe that at least 90% of all A level students would have finished their A levels yesterday, which was Physics paper 1 and unfortunately for me,  I still have my computing paper 2 on Friday, three days from now.

In any case, I am glad to be back on my blog and with my months of absence, my long time readers (lol, adding gold to my face – chinese proverb) can expect a super duper long blog post of manga within the next five days, at least after my computing paper. I happen to have two drawers full of manga so I will kill myself taking pictures and putting all my activities for the past 5 months into words during the weekend.

But before any of that could happen, I have to get back to my studies which I totally have no idea what to do since computing is basically an either-you-know-it-or-not subject so maybe I will just surf google for some information and conclude my studies. Ciao.

Just as the title says, school reopens tomorrow and I have done almost absolutely nothing during the holidays, except if brushing up on my pen spinning skills count. AYG starts tomorrow yay, so thats about it for now. Once I find some free time, I will upload pictures, manga and some other stuff so stay tuned.

Oh no no no, from personal experience, the floor is slippery when dry

The first week of my study break and I have already wasted it away. I can’t expect much from the remaining three weeks. Monday and Tuesday was wasted on my Infocomm camp, though I consider it to be slightly fun but extremely tiring. It practically ate away years of my life that would never be recovered.

Wednesday was spent on recuperating, since I was practically knocked out the entire day. Thursday and Friday was dedicated to Infocomm training,but I was not given the chance to touch the computer thus, wasting 8 hours in school during those two days. Anyway, whats done cannot be undone, so lets look forward to the new week.

I was bored so I went to read the papers

This is old news, considering the fact that this was from yesterday’s papers. Oh well, the fact that I actually read anything other than the Garfield comics is already an accomplishment.

I don’t think I will be looking forward to this animation even though the artwork is different and might have a nice storyline, I mean, who knows? I am just beginning to distant myself from anime and stick closer to manga and thus, I have not watched much anime since the beginning of this year. (the last 3 episodes of ToraDora are still waiting for me)

Time for manga. I am still at book 10 so no point for me to give any comments, though I have read the online scans earlier.

Genderbender manga

I noticed a trend for these couple of weeks. The number of genderbender manga seems to have increased. Being one of my favourite genres, I welcome genderbender any day. It can be guy -> girl or vice versa, it doesn’t matter. =)

A new strategy?

Since loli manga is being clamp down on, the author decides to use shota genderbender? Doesn’t matter to me. Anyway given Singapore’s strict rules on manga, even without reading it yet, I know not to expect too much.

Anyway its 11 at night now. I have school tomorrow (it might be the study break but we still have to return for extra lessons. *Sigh*) so I shall leave off here. If I find anything nice I shall post here again. Someday, somehow. ;(

No worries, although I had fever, followed by flu and some coughing and today, sore throat, I have never felt better. There has been another 20% discount at Kinokuniya today, which I found out yesterday and this time its island wide, so yeah, manga spamming time.

Moyashimon predicted H1N1

I was just rewatching Moyashimon for fun when I noticed this. I wish they have a season 2 or at least Taiwan should translate the manga into chinese. I can read normal shounen manga in Japanese but if it comes to manga with specific terms, I would probably get stuck.

As you can see, this is book 4. The first book I bought for this series was book 4. Book 1,2 and 3 were available at the manga store, even 5, but I simply chose 4. Correct me if I am wrong, but I think this manga is kodomo no jikan.

Nice movie, sort of

By the way, I got my fever after watching the movie. As in, right after the movie, I had a fever, maybe due to the air conditioning, and me being out on the field for hours before, in the hot sun, taking photos for photography duty.

Anyway the movie was nice. You never know who is the bad guy until the end. The man who wiped out so many people died and epic death, which reminded me of Detroit Metal City. Some researcher’s eyeball got plucked out just because they used retinal scans at the labratory. Well, I can’t remember much due to my fever and I do not want to give spoilers to those who have not watched so I shall continue.

I have been waiting for ages for the 20% discount and fortunately, I had bothered to check Kinokuniya’s website today and saw that there was indeed a discount but only at Liang Court.

This wasn’t included in the receipt, I bought it last week

I shall stretch my post longer given the number of pictures involved. As I said before, I am putting one manga per picture instead of squeezing them all into one picture.

I don’t mind reading shoujo manga once in a while

Anyway I had headed on to Liang Court despite knowing that it was going to be crowded there. I had been waiting for more than a quarter of the year so my buying list for manga had extended and I was going to crack if no discounts were offered by June. Thankfully my prayers were answered.

Shoujo manga are strangely similar in many ways

I was in a pinch at Kinokuniya because I didn’t now that they had baskets there (Well I did know that they have them at the main branch at Orchard) so I just carried them in my hands. I took out my list and began checking the manga and very soon I had my hands tied from carrying the books. That was when I accidentally dropped four books and a helpful lady handed me a basket. I would have asked for her number, you know =), its just that I was there with a *ahem* dozen  of *ahem* manga in my hand. Fortunately I did not wear any anime related shirt so perhaps I was presentable.

I could only find book 5 and 6 so I took it as a sign to stop for now

I had to hold back my laughter when the cashier stared into the basket. They were quick though, experience was probably what brought them to carry out their job. I remember staring at 3 booklists while working in a bookshop last year. After the initial shock, I got back to hunt for the books and got my job done. I believe that I should be among the first to buy more than 10 manga (I bought 25) at one go, unless some person tried to collect the entire series of Kyo Samurai Deeper or Yugioh (Provided that Kinokuniya have all 38 books ready which I doubt so)

I remember the story wasn’t that interesting but I like Negima too much that I think its overboard. I have finished with what happened today so I shall continue with whatever random things which happened or comes to my mind. I remember that there are at least 3 things which I had in mind but due to my extremely short term memory, I have forgotten them.

I went to the Singapore Conference Hall on Tuesday with my other Orchestra members to know where and how to seat, what to do and not to do, and strategize on how to perform well during our SYF. Despite my usual optimism, I hope the swine flu does not affect my SYF, especially since we have been practising for so long and built our confidence up.

Meh… I am getting bored and tired

Its getting late and I want to catch some rest because later (since it is already the next day) I have to attend CO practise so I shall just skim through the pictures. When I remember what I want to say, I shall add them in another post.

I really can’t remember what I wanted to talk about. I should have written it somewhere so that I would remember but since I have forgotten there is no helping it. Anyway hopefully there would be another 20% promotion this month since there are two holidays and it had better be in Orchard road so that I can find the books which I want. I will also probably not have anything to post next week since due to Labour Day the manga shops probably do not have any new books butI can go and take a look. At most I will post about my SYF results next week. Cya guys then.

My friend suggested this idea to me. Of course, A levels is still months away but there’s no harm in thinking that its going to arrive in the blink of an eye. SYF judging is no so far away though…. Its on the 6th of May. =)

I just went to collect the remaining Tenjou Tenge books which I have missed out

It felt like ages since I last posted anything. Either time flies or I am getting old… Or, I really have not been posting for a very long time, which I am too lazy to check whether it is true or not.

Since the last time I posted, which I predict would be at least two weeks ago, I have been busy with many things and left this blog dead till now. This would be a frequent occurrence as I have many issues to settle.

Things like A levels, SYF (Oh I forgot to mention, I just joined the Chinese Orchestra last month so I will be performing for SYF which is Singapore Youth Festival if I am not mistaken, but of course only the top would be invited to the actual youth festival), Facebook (lawl, I got addicted to Mafia Wars so if any of my readers actually see this please add me =D) etc, so not only will I be unable to post random stuff (If you do not count this as random) I will also have nothing much other than manga and very very very occasionally, some random events.

Thats a rather old joke (Maybe cold too) so lets carry on. I might have mentioned this in my earlier post, a century ago, that I didn’t do well for my Semestral Assessment 1 so I was probably rejected to go for the Maths trip to Macau (T__T) but I am not as upset as being unable to go for the Japan trip. Almost half a year has gone by but I am still thinking about the trip, thats how disappointed I am. Sigh, I have got to carry on with life anyway.

However, there is still a glimpse of hope. My school’s Chinese Orchestra is going to Hong Kong at the end of the year in December. Why do I say theres a glimpse of hope? Because, they would be going on the first week of December anddddddddd my A levels end on December the 4th. What the hell? Its really stupid if you ask me. (The schedule for the A level paper that is)

Cont’d… I am taking Computing and my A level Computing paper is one whole month apart. How ridiculous is that? For one thing, its the first and last paper. How do the examiners expect us to remember whatever we have learnt in that one month given that in between we have other subjects such as Mathematics and Physics.

Another thing would be that it might clash with my trip T___T but hopefully not. Oh well, I can only accept my fate if that is what god wishes. (And I happen to be a freethinker) I think the tiredness is getting to me. I am starting to spout gibberish again.

Its just been about a week since I started using Facebook but it is so addictive I just keep checking back whenever I am near a computer. I just realized how bad a situation I am currently facing. Earlier in the evening, I went to my trusty manga shop near my house and just this week alone, I have 8 books under my WANT list (maybe more after I read the reviews) and this is just one week by itself. Ouch. My earlier posts about holes burning in my wallet are starting to look like jokes if Kinokuniya doesn’t have a 20% discount soon… My whole wallet is on the verge of disappearing.

My school seems to be organizing more trips for the seniors this year, besides the Poland trip, this morning there was an announcement that there will be a trip to Vietnam and Macau and JC2s are allowed. I wanted to go for the Macau trip until I saw the application form… It seems that the teachers are going to take into account, our JC1 promotion grades and I had done extremely badly last year, barely passing my subjects and getting to JC2.

However, this year I have made the extra effort to study a little and the tests seems to be much easier. =) Oh well, I will consider applying for the Macau trip SINCE this time its organized by the Mathematics department and not the GP department. I also found out that the GP trip was biased but let bygones be bygones, I shall let the matter rest.

This manga caught my attention earlier

Although I don’t really have a thing for tentacles, this front cover really caught my interest and hopefully does not disappoint in the far future in which I shall remove it from its protection and scout its deep dark contents. Unless the front cover is just another way to sell the book, in which I would have no comments.

I know I said this was a rant (and I still consider it being one) but I have to go. I have training tomorrow from 9am to 3pm and starting from Monday would be doomsday as I will probably get back my SA1 results bit by bit. Ciao. =)

Reality is such a frightening thing. Yesterday was the release of the 2008 A level examination results. The tension of the people sitting in the hall could be felt from the gallery, where I was standing at. It was good to know that most people I know had scored a couple of As and one had 6As. =) However, what will my results be next year, when I get it back?

A levels is not an excuse to stop buying manga

I only got back my chinese results which fortunately, or unfortunately, I got a B grade. Some people might envy a B, others might find it lousy, but to me, what matters is that I passed and can probably say good bye to chinese for good. (Other than using it for manga reading purposes, that is)

I just thought I should try reading from another genre

I have opened this manga and skimmed through it and its really unfair. This sort of shoujo manga (I think it should be shoujo) has more epic scenes than the shonen manga. =( Luckily I have gotten used to it.

Here’s my manga for now. Due to the lack of sleep in recent weeks, I seem to develop quite a few problems but hopefully they will disappear in time to come.

One more thing before I end off, I just joined the Chinese Orchestra in my school. The Singapore Youth Festival is going to be held starting from April.The teacher said that everyone would have to go no matter what, so I am practising my songs so as to not bring the orchestra down.
